Jessica defied all odds that were given to us growing up. She took the word "devotion" to heart, never wavering in her commitment to her dreams, her family and most of all, her son, Deigtric. You always knew when she entered a room—her bold, larger-than-life personality made an unforgettable entrance. She made everyone hysterically laugh until there were happy tears.
She was a constant source of inspiration, not just to family and friends, but to anyone who crossed her path. Her enthusiasm for life and her relentless passion for a better future made an impact on everyone. She set her sights on becoming a lawyer, and she was well on her way—making the Dean’s List for two years straight. While balancing her studies, she dedicated herself to being the best mom she could be to her 11-year-old son, Deigtric. Beyond that, she was an incredible sister, daughter, and friend to many.
No one will ever meet another person like Jessica. While her radiant personality showed the world her happiness, she also fought an ongoing battle with mental illness—a struggle that affected her for many years. The truth is, you never truly know what someone is going through, no matter how they appear on the outside. We want to honor Jessica’s life by shedding light on the importance of understanding, compassion and support for those who are struggling in silence.
The outpouring of love and support we’ve received as we’ve searched for Jessica only proves how deeply she was loved, and how powerful kindness and empathy can be. Mental illness is complex—it’s not something you can simply Google, and it does not define who someone is. Jessica’s story is a reminder that no matter how small or insignificant someone may feel, we should always be kind, supportive, and loving toward one another.
The purpose of this GofundMe is to help with Ceremony expenses and for supporting family throughout this time.
