If you grew up in an Italian American household, you already know — you never left the house hungry, you had at least three people yelling your name at once, and somehow… food was always the answer to everything.
The Bianca from Brooklyn Italian-American Heritage Award was created to celebrate that kind of upbringing — the loud kitchens, the big personalities, and the strong women who made us who we are.
This award is for the next generation of girls who are growing up the same way — full of personality, heart, and culture.
We’re celebrating one exceptional young woman in grades 3–8 attending school in Brooklyn, NY who proudly embraces her Italian heritage.
Through essays, artwork, or video, applicants can share what being Italian-American means to them — whether it’s food, family, language, traditions, or community.
At the end of the day, this is about more than an award. It’s about keeping our culture alive, honoring the women who came before us, and making sure these girls grow up just as proud — and just as loud — as we did.
Our goal is to gift one deserving student a minimum $500 award.
