I began my life and work in the high places because I believe in the strength and spirit of the people who live and labor in those mountains. Over the years I have learned that behind every summit there is a family, a community, and often a brave high-altitude worker whose sacrifice keeps mountaineering and mountain life possible. When tragedy strikes, those families are left facing unimaginable loss and financial hardship.
The Juniper Fund exists to support and empower families and communities impacted by the loss of Himalayan high-altitude workers. Their mission is close to my heart. I have seen firsthand how a timely gift can bring stability, dignity, and hope to a grieving household—paying for education, medical care, or basic living needs while a family rebuilds their future.
I am raising funds because every donation helps preserve the legacy of workers who gave so much for their communities and for the world of climbing. This is about more than money. It is about honoring commitment, easing suffering, and ensuring children and elders have the support they need when the unthinkable happens.
Please join me in supporting The Juniper Fund. Your contribution will directly aid families impacted by loss in the Himalaya and stand with a community that has given so much. Give what you can today to make a real difference.
