Honoring Grandma Lenore: Support "Grace's Gift" Do

Donation protected
"Grace's Gift" is the story of how I met a stranger and how she helped me create hope and a future through her love, care, and community in the years of her life that many people write off. I came to America to find a land of promise and had instead found brokenness and pain, but through the power of this friendship found a way to reweave my story and continue to live out my Grandma Lenore's legacy by sharing the joy far beyond her years here on earth.

This documentary seeks to celebrate the transformative power of human connection and meaningful relationships in a world that had seemingly lost this touch. By sharing this documentary, "Grace's Gift" has the potential to inspire and uplift audiences, spreading messages of resilience, love, faith and the power of an individual, when living an intentional life.

Please join me as I raise the necessary funding to complete this documentary in it's final editing stages and prepare to share it to our community in different platforms. My goal is to raise funds by the end of June, 2024 and I ask you join me in the process as I commit to sharing this powerful story.

At this time last year, life presented me with profound challenges and poignant moments of loss. This experience has changed my perspective on life as I reflect and have a heart of gratitude. May 1st 2024 marks the first anniversary of the passing of a dear friend, my first American Grandma and mentor. Grandma Lenore played an important role in shaping the person I am today. Her spirit of love, guidance, and unwavering support has been a constant source of strength for me for a decade and I am filled with a deep sense of purpose and a desire to honor her legacy in a meaningful way.

I am Jeena Gurung Vomhof, originally from Nepal and now a proud citizen of this country. Grandma Lenore played a profound role motivating me through challenges, celebrating successes and embodying the spirit of unconditional love and support by being there for me or keeping me in her prayers. Inspired by Grandma Lenore's impact on my life and the lives of many others, I embarked on a journey to create a documentary titled "Grace's Gift." This documentary is a tribute to the relationships that have shaped my journey, showcasing the ripple effect of love, kindness, and human connection. This documentary is going to be a gift to my 7 year old daughter, Grace.

The project began as a vision to capture the stories of those who have been instrumental in my growth and development over the past decade. My friend Nyia Harris, a talented narrator, encouraged me to document these relationships on video, recognizing the timeless value of preserving memories and lessons for future generations. "Grace's Gift" is not just a documentary about me; it's a celebration of the transformative power of human connections and meaningful relationships. Through interviews with 31 individuals, including family members, friends, community leaders, and mentors, the film delves into the impact of Grandma Lenore's presence in my life and the influence she had on those around her. Sadly, we are able to only include 15 individuals in the final documentary and this has given me an opportunity to want to do more with the project in the future. Each interview is a testament to the value of love and relationships, highlighting the importance of cherishing every moment and appreciating the people who shape our lives. However, as much as I am passionate about this project, I realize that bringing "Grace's Gift" to life requires resources beyond my current means. Nyia and I have dedicated countless hours to filming and gathering interviews, but we now face the crucial stage of editing and post-production, which requires professional expertise and equipment.

Therefore, I am reaching out to you to request financial support for the completion of "Grace's Gift." The funds will primarily be used for a professional editor and a movie-making company to ensure the highest quality production standards. We have chosen Twin Cities Film Festival in St. Louis Park, MN as our partner for this endeavor, aiming to complete the editing phase by the end of June 2024. By sharing this documentary, I believe "Grace's Gift" has the potential to inspire and uplift audiences, spreading messages of resilience, love, faith and the power of an individual, when living an intentional life. I am deeply grateful for your consideration and support in making this project a reality. I look forward to sharing this heartfelt journey with you and the world.

Warm regards,
Jeena Gurung Vomhof
