Our community is completely heartbroken!

It is with heavy hearts we share that our beloved Grace is in the arms of Jesus.

On Sunday, November 2nd, Grace Edwards was tragically run over by a car while walking with her mom in a parking lot.

Friday night before the accident, while filling out the application to renew her driver’s license, Grace had a discussion with her parents about becoming an organ donor. When it was clear she would not survive her injuries, they knew her wishes were to give life to others by donating her organs.

On Sunday, November 9th, in the presence of hospital staff and many beloved friends and family, Grace was ushered into the OR with an Honor Walk, serving others in death just as she did in life. We are comforted by the fact that her legacy is going to live on and bring life to others. Because of Grace’s immense love for children, it is fitting to know that her heart was donated to an 8 year old.

Grace was a vibrant and carefree 19 year old girl. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, and nursing student. She touched the lives of so many, including young families as she cared for many children at her church and in her community. She loved spending time in God’s creation and with her friends and relatives, but she especially enjoyed quality time with her close-knit family: Her parents Kevin & Tiffany, her brother Caleb (high school senior), her sister Lauren (8th grade), Mariah & Kyle (adopted family), and both sets of her Grandparents: Noreen & Don and Debbie & Stan.

Grace was beautiful, kind, smart, and a steady example of what it means to love and serve others.

We are surrounding the Edwards family with love and support during this difficult time.
