Honoring Gerardo: Help with Memorial Expenses

Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Gerardo Ortiz.

Gerardo was a bright, young 24-year-old CNA at Providence St. Vincent Hospital while currently enrolled in nursing school to obtain his RN, BSN degree.

Gerardo was enjoying his evening with friends in Portland when he tragically lost his life due to a horrific scooter accident. He was cherished by his mother, sister, nieces, friends, and family. His warmth, love, and kindness touched so many lives.

As we navigate this heartbreaking loss, we want to give Gerardo the dignified farewell he deserves. Unfortunately, the costs of funeral and memorial services are much higher than we ever imagined.

We are asking for your support to help cover:

• Funeral/memorial services

• Bereavement leave as his mother is self-employed and is suffering the loss of her only son.

Our goal is $20,000, which reflects the essential expenses needed to give Gerardo a proper memorial. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will make a difference. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser means the world to us.

Con profunda tristeza, compartimos el fallecimiento de nuestro querido Gerardo Ortiz.

Gerardo era un joven y brillante auxiliar de enfermería en el Hospital Providence St. Vincent, mientras cursaba sus estudios de enfermería para obtener su título de Enfermero Registrado y Licenciado en Enfermería (RN/BSN).

Gerardo disfrutaba de una tarde con amigos en Portland cuando perdió la vida trágicamente en un terrible accidente de moto.

Su madre, su hermana, sus sobrinas, sus amigos y su familia lo querían mucho. Su calidez, amor y bondad conmovieron a tantas personas.

Mientras afrontamos esta desgarradora pérdida, queremos brindarle a Gerardo la despedida digna que merece. Desafortunadamente, los costos del funeral y los servicios conmemorativos son mucho más altos de lo que jamás imaginamos.
