As my mom would say, ALOHA everyone. On December 5th, 2025, I received a heart-wrenching phone call from my mom’s friend, and it is with a heavy heart that I announce the sudden passing of my mom, Geraldine Sanchez. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. There are so many good things we can say about her, but the one that comes to mind first is the life of the party, with her infectious laugh, the seashell lady. If you couldn’t reach her, she was most likely lying on a beach soaking in the sun or in someone’s yard gardening. My mom had a green thumb.
Geraldine was so full of life and loved by so many. Born in the South Bay and raised in San Pedro, California, she is a retiree of the Department of Fish and Wildlife. She is survived by her daughter, Monique Jimenez, and her 4 grandchildren: Nylah, Junior, Anaya, Olivia, and numerous family and friends. She is going to be missed tremendously. This is all such a shock.
Her passing has come suddenly and unexpectedly. We are asking for support for her homegoing services. Anything is very much appreciated.
