Honoring 50 Years of Military Service Academy Women

On October 8, 1975, a law was passed allowing women to attend West Point and the Naval and Air Force Academies. Since then, thousands of women have volunteered to attend the service academies, going on to lead military servicemembers across our armed forces and carrying the spirit of service into their communities, the civil workforce, and beyond.
This year, on the weekend of October 3, the service academy women of Greater Washington, DC, in partnership with the Air Force Academy Society of Washington, DC (AFASW), will hold two events to commemorate 50 years of women at the service academies. On October 3, a reception will take place in Old Town Alexandria for service academy women, and on October 5 at 10 am, a memorial event will be held in front of the Military Women's Memorial. All are invited to attend the memorial event.
Your donation is critical to the success of these events. AFASW is a 501(c)3 and all donations in support of this program are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your commitment to honoring these women veterans.
