Honoring my brother Dave: Running to End Lymphoma
Tax deductible
You’re living your life…. A physician, an involved community member, a charitable individual, an active man. And first and foremost a loving husband, father and grandpa…..
How would you respond if someone you love was HIT out of the blue with the news….. “you have lymphoma and you will need chemo”? Those are the words nobody wants to hear, yet unfortunately, many will hear. Those are the words that create fear and cause a huge ripple.
I am scared and afraid for someone very close to me, and I’ve made the choice to do what I can to try and donate to fight against lymphoma….. to run alongside him and do my best to make a contribution to stop those words from being said to anyone else.
Today he starts his journey. He is strong and a fighter with the support of many family and friends, and he has built a community of people that love him.
Today I made a pledge that for the next 18 weeks, I will run in his honor.
Every 3 weeks for 6 sessions, while he receives his chemo, I will be out progressively running more distance each time I run…. starting with a 3-mile run and ending with a 10-mile run, making progress towards the bigger goal!
My goal is to raise money for the Lymphoma Society to honor my brother Dave and anyone else fighting this challenge. Any support you give will be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you
