Honoring Coach Ty: Help His Loved Ones

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former Freeze and LSJ Coach Tyrell Berriman — known and loved by all his players as Coach Ty.

Coach Ty’s passion for hockey began at a young age and carried through into his coaching, where he inspired and encouraged young athletes. He started as an Assistant Coach in the Freeze program, later became Head Coach for the Freeze Bantams, and most recently served as an Assistant Coach for the LSJ JV team.

Coach Ty’s dedication, kindness, and love for the game left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest in peace, and may his family, friends, and players find comfort in the many cherished memories of Coach Ty.

In the wake of Coach Ty’s unexpected passing, many have asked how they can help. We are setting up a GoFundMe to support his family with the unforeseen expenses during this difficult time.

Coach Ty gave so much to the hockey community — through his time, energy, and heart. Now, we have the opportunity to give back and show our appreciation for all he meant to us.
