Honoring Brian's Legacy of Love and Generosity
Donation protected
In honor of an amazing life that was cut way too short, at 24-year’s old: Our son, Bill “Brian” Farney was an amazing, caring, loving, funny, energetic soul. He loved his family, especially all of his little brothers and sister. He loved his parents. Brian started riding bikes 4 years ago. He finally bought his first brand-new bike in May of 2024, a 2024 Suzuki GSXR 750. If Brian wasn’t working, he was riding his bike with friends and family or playing video games with his buddies at night. Brian was, as one friend called him, the “flat-tire guy.” Brian was the friend that you called if you ever needed a lending hand for anything. He was always there to help no matter what time of the day or night it was. He loved everyone and everyone he met loved him. He didn’t have an enemy. He didn’t know a stranger.
On September 12, 2024, Brian was doing what he loved most, riding his bike. Unfortunately, he wrecked when he hit a groundhog. Brian had very serious brain damage and succumbed to his injuries on September 19, 2024. Brian had wished to be an organ donor. His family made the choice to abide by his wishes. Due to Brian’s loving gift of life, he was able to save 4 lives, so far, with his heart, kidneys, and liver. Brian also donated his corneas, his musculoskeletal tissue and cartilage tissue. His skeletal tissue will help with spinal and hip surgeries and assist in tendon and ligament repair. His cartilage tissue will be used to help those that need facial reconstruction such as from cleft palate. They called Brian a unicorn donor because he can save up to 183 people with his gift.
The family is trying to raise funds to pay for Brian’s bike. Brian still owed the bank $5,300. Also, it will cost $2,000 to fix the bike. His father, Bill Farney, wants to pay for and fix the bike to ride every year for Brian’s memorial ride, in Brian’s honor.
Please assist our family, if you can, and any help is greatly appreciated. After all funds are received, any that is left will be donated, as a scholarship, in Brian's name, at Oak Hill High School, which is where he graduated from in 2018. Thank you all again for your love and support.
