Hi everyone,
I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom during an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time in her life. She is the rock for her five children, four of whom are adults, and has always been the person everyone leans on. She gives endlessly, carries a lot quietly, and rarely asks for help herself. Right now, she truly needs support.
Over the past several years, our family has faced significant challenges. My dad battled cancer for two years and was unable to work for over a year during that time. Despite this, my mom remained the sole provider for our family, covering bills, medical visits, treatments, and the ongoing cost of living while managing the household and caring for everyone. During the last six months, she traveled back and forth between Stanford Hospital and Truckee for extended treatments, hospital stays, and major surgeries, never leaving my dad’s side. She remained his constant support through every step of his care while managing responsibilities and expenses that he would usually handle.
She has been out on temporary disability since September, which has made keeping up with expenses increasingly difficult. On top of that, she is now facing cremation costs, the urgent need to move into a smaller, more affordable home, paying for Kingston’s new Invisalign treatment, and returning my dad’s car. Which means she urgently needs her own car repaired so she can continue caring for the family. She has also recently lost her health insurance, leaving her without coverage during this already fragile time.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Cremation expenses
Moving and housing transition costs
Rent and basic living expenses, including cost of living
Car repairs for reliable transportation
Medical and orthodontic expenses for Kingston
Health-related expenses due to loss of insurance
The time right now is financially and emotionally heavy, and any support would help her manage these immediate needs. My dad was the kind of person who never missed a chance to show up for the people he loved. Whether through his time, his loyalty, or quiet acts of care, he made it clear how deeply he valued family and community. He believed in showing love through action. Now, in his absence, we’re hoping to honor him by showing up for what mattered most in his life — his wife and his son. Supporting them during this time is a way to carry forward the love, protection, and devotion he always gave so freely.
My mother will also be accepting direct donations to her Venmo
@heather-anderson-89
As well as a local donation box at Emerald bay bar and grill if you’re looking for a more personal aspect. As that was my fathers job for a decade+
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward these urgent expenses. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or keeping my mom and Kingston in your thoughts and prayers means just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any kindness you are able to offer during such a painful transition.
