Hi, my name is Deborah L. Robinson, the wife of the late Rev. Edward Robinson Jr. The late Rev. Edward Robinson Jr. was a member of the Christian Community Church of God for over forty years (1958-1998) under the leadership of the late Elder Conway Green.
In 1986, after an epiphany, Elder Robinson received his call from God and began an evangelistic ministry at three nursing homes. Deborah L. Robinson encouraged her husband to support the Agape House, and he became an avid supporter. Elder Robinson was a volunteer, board member, chairperson, and senior pastor.
From 2004-2005, Elder Robinson attended the College of Notre Dame of Maryland as an Associated Black Charities Compassion Fellow and completed graduate studies in Non-Profit Management.
Rev. Robinson and Deborah L. Robinson completed the second cohort of the University of Baltimore School for Business Social Enterprise Program in 2006.
Rev. Robinson received numerous citations and Congressional awards, including an Official Citation from United States Senator James E. DeGranger and Senator Barbara Mikulski, the Congressional Achievement Award from Elijah Cummings, The Jefferson Award for Public Service, a Certificate of Appreciation from The Social Security Administration Combined Federal Campaign, and the Mayor’s Citation, just to name a few.
The late Rev. Edward Robinson Jr. worked tirelessly in the community through the Empowerment Zone. He was a member of the University of Maryland Research Review Board. He also chaired Operational Reach Out Southwest (OROSW). He dedicated his life to supporting the underserved population. WMAR TV nominated Rev. Edward Robinson Jr. for the Jefferson Award. He was also honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Maryland Chapter as one of two shining stars from the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
Rev. Robinson worked diligently in the community, picking up children for Wednesday Bible Studies, Saturday school, and Sunday Church Service, just to name a few. He would say, “If you teach the children, you’ll reach their parents.” Lastly, Rev Robinson gave food bags out to the community every Wednesday before Bible Study, and Sunday Service provide a meal. Pastor feed everyone present.
Rev. Edward Robinson Jr. was the president of Agape House Inc. and simply a friend of God! My mission is to continue his legacy, by giving a hand-up, reaching hearts, and providing hope!
