Honor Our Fallen: Help Grieving Children
Tax deductible
Hey, it’s Cambridge Brown and I’ve asked my mom to help me set up this fundraiser to honor my dad, Rob Brown’s legacy. For the last 3 Memorial Days, I have attended Camp Good Grief. This camp has helped me not be so angry about my dad dying. My dad developed a brain tumor from Iraq. However, he said he would have done it all over again to defend and protect this country for the future. This year, I learned that I have to also have a part to do to help those who come after me.
Support TAPS as they provide hope and healing to the families and loved ones who have lost a hero in our Armed Forces. My goal is $50k to sponsor 50 mentors for next year's Camp Good Grief. I have 365 days to meet or exceed this goal, to try to make another kid's Memorial Day as great as mine. I only need 2000 people to donate $50 to reach my goal. So come on, let’s make it matter together!
Good Grief Camp (GGC) is offered for children and teenagers grieving the death of a military family member.
Children and teenagers are assigned to peer groups where they are able to openly talk about and express their grief, learn coping skills, and develop connections with other surviving youth who are grieving similar losses. Each child and teenager is paired with a Military Mentor, an active duty or veteran military member, who has been trained to offer support and encouragement to Good Grief Camp participants throughout the weekend.
