Support the Children of Leo Baca – Honoring His Legacy Through Education
Leo was a beloved member of our Aikido community, a loving father, a dedicated martial artist, and a powerful role model on and off the mat. His recent passing leaves behind two beautiful children: Emma (age 14) and Ryan (age 3). As we mourn this tremendous loss, we also seek to honor Leo’s memory in a way that reflects his deep love for his family and commitment to their future.
Leo was especially devoted to Emma’s training in both Aikido and gymnastics. He was a constant presence—encouraging, learning, and always leading by example. His younger son Ryan brought joy and light into Leo’s life, and Leo often spoke of wanting both children to have the chance to follow their passions and pursue meaningful lives.
We are raising funds to support Emma and Ryan’s future college education. These funds will be split between them and held for the express purpose of continuing the path Leo worked so hard to lay for his children. Education was something Leo believed in deeply—and this fund will serve as a long-term tribute to that belief.
As Nomura Sensei, our longtime teacher, has said:
“Aikido is not about how strong you are. It is about how much you can give of yourself, how much you can transform strength into connection.” Leo lived those words. He brought a quiet strength and deep curiosity to every practice, and he carried that same spirit into fatherhood. His presence will be missed, though through Emma and Ryan, his legacy continues.
We welcome donations of any amount. Every gift, large or small, is received with deep gratitude. Whether you’re part of the Aikido world, a friend, or extended family, your support helps carry Leo’s hopes for his children forward.
Thank you for standing with us in this time of remembrance and responsibility.
