Hi, we’re Nick and Tam — and this… is our leap.

We are a couple chasing our dream of life on the water. Earlier this year, we set out on this journey with our beloved cat, Kvothe, at our side. He was more than a pet—he was family, and a constant source of comfort and joy. Sadly, after two months on the boat, the summer heat and stress of the transition took a toll on his health. Despite medication and our best efforts, Kvothe developed jaundice and grew too weak. With broken hearts, we had to say goodbye.

This fundraiser began as a way to make our boat safe for Kvothe. Now, we continue in his honor—carrying forward the dream we all shared together. Life aboard brings freedom, challenge, and beauty, but also requires constant upkeep and unexpected repairs. We’re working hard doing day jobs—washing boats, doing yardwork, whatever we can—but we can’t do it all alone.

Your support will help us with essential boat repairs and maintenance, including:

Hauling out and repairing fiberglass and through-hull fittings

Replacing our bowsprit and front furling line

New sails and anchoring lights for safety

A sturdy dinghy for going ashore

An oil change, impeller, and new batteries

Covering one more month of marina fees before heading south
