Dear Neighbors,

As many of you know, Ian Gavine passed away on September 2, 2025. Ian has been the heart and soul of La Cañada Village for decades. He moved into the complex only a few years after it was built in 1973 and went on to serve on the HOA board continuously for over 40 years—most of that time as Board President. During those years, Ian dedicated countless hours as a volunteer, often managing maintenance and paperwork almost single-handedly, always without compensation.

To honor his extraordinary contributions, we would like to purchase and install a memorial bench in Ian’s name near the grassy area in front of the pool gate—the heart of our complex. The bench has a 50-year lifetime warranty, and our goal is to raise approximately $1,600 to cover the cost of the bench and installation.

Once the bench is in place, we plan to hold a memorial at LCV to celebrate Ian’s legacy and his dedication to our community. If we do not raise the full amount for the bench, funds collected will go toward a plaque or smaller bench so his memory is honored.

Any contribution is deeply appreciated. We would like to have all donations submitted by Mon, Dec 8th. Thank you for helping us recognize Ian’s remarkable service and lifelong commitment to La Cañada Village.
