Help Us Honor Chuck's Legacy: Fund a Fine Arts Scholarship!

Charles "Chuck" Diddia was the heart of Bethany Union Church. He was the first to greet you at the door of the church with a firm handshake, a warm smile, and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Chuck connected with everyone he met, leaving a lasting impact on so many lives. One of his greatest joys was supporting others, including the musicians at our church. He would often throw his arms in the air in appreciation after a song he loved, attended choir members' performances outside of church, and even drove his granddaughter to voice lessons for years.

In honor of Chuck and his incredible spirit, we're establishing the Charles Diddia Fine Arts Scholarship. This scholarship will not only support a talented artist with a $500 award but also continue Chuck's legacy of welcoming and championing artists within our community.

The Scholarship: A Legacy of Support

We believe in creating a vibrant community where everyone is empowered to share their gifts. This scholarship is designed to do just that. We're looking for artists of all kinds—musicians, singers, visual artists, and more—who want to use their talents to create meaningful connections and lasting impact.

The scholarship winner will receive a $500 award to support their artistic journey.

Finalists will also be invited to present their art at a Sunday morning service at Bethany Union Church, where they'll receive a guest artist stipend. This unique opportunity offers artists a supportive platform to share their gifts with our community, just as Chuck would have wanted.

Scholarship Details at a Glance

What it is: A $500 Fine Arts Scholarship in memory of Charles "Chuck" Diddia.

Who can apply: Artists of all ages and types (musicians, visual artists, etc.) are welcome to apply.

How to apply: Applicants should submit a short self-taped presentation of their art, along with a brief biography. More details will be provided on the church website, BethanyUnion.com.

Finalists: Selected finalists will be invited to present their work at a Bethany Union Church service and will receive a guest artist stipend.

Location: While open to all, preference may be given to artists in the Beverly neighborhood and surrounding Chicago area.
