My name is Brandi Jones, founder of the Honor Bonner initiative, created in loving memory of my son, Anthony Bonner. Anthony passed away in March 2025 at the age of 24 due to a sudden cardiac event.
My mission is to help our community place Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in public parks and spaces where children and families gather and play. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes. Every minute without defibrillation reduces survival rates by 7-10%. When CPR is combined with an AED within 3-5 minutes, survival rates increase by 70%. Studies shows that when AEDs are publicly available, survival rates can double or even triple.
I am personally funding the placement of the first AED in a Columbus park in Anthony's honor. As this has now passed city council, we are redirecting our fundraising efforts to raise funds for local health fairs offering EKG screenings to youth and serving Christmas Eve dinner to local Fire/EMS stations each year.
Together, we can turn heartbreak into action and save lives. Please consider donating to help us say thank you to our first responders and provide life-saving EKGs to youth in our community and Honor Bonner's legacy with a purpose that truly matters.
Thank you for your support.
