In the heart of our bustling city, we recently lost a beacon of light and service, Hong Wen. Hong was a dedicated Registered Nurse who devoted her life to serving the frail seniors of our Chinese community. Her unwavering commitment and compassion were a testament to her character and the love she had for her community.

Hong's sudden and unexpected departure has left a void that is hard to fill. Her parents, who travelled all the way from Anhui province, China, are now left to navigate the complexities of a foreign land without their beloved daughter's guidance. Despite being denied entry into the US three times, they persevered and finally made it here, only to find that they had exhausted their retirement savings on airfares, hotels, living arrangements and legal fees.

Both of Hong's parents are retired, do not speak English, and are struggling to understand how things work in the US. To further complicate matters, Hong left without a will, causing all her assets and accounts to be ceased until a court ruling. This has left her parents in a precarious situation, facing substantial legal fees and a considerable waiting period to access their daughter's estate.

In the face of these overwhelming challenges, we are reaching out to you, our generous community, to help Hong's parents during this incredibly tough time. We are launching a voluntary donation drive to raise funds to help them navigate through these financial and legal hurdles.
