Honeymoon Couple and friends robbed in Vancouver

Hi, my name is Amanda. I am Kaitlin's cousin. I'm fundraising for Kaitlin and Mac, the newlyweds and their friends, Danielle, Tyler and Matt, who were robbed of everything while travelling in British Columbia.

Kaitlin and Mac recently celebrated their wedding on Friday, August 19th, in Calgary. The newlyweds began their honeymoon with a little road trip to Vancouver before heading to California.

The group drove to Vancouver from Kelowna on Sunday morning. They arrived early for check-in, so they decided to take a quick bike ride in Stanley Park. When the group returned to their car, they were shocked to see that the window was smashed and all their belongings had been stolen.

The robbers took everything, except for what they had on them.

All their luggage and backpacks were stolen from the car, too, including the couple's wedding gifts which were mainly cash from family and friends. The cash would have helped cover the cost of the wedding, and now they have to burden the expenses themselves, especially as new homeowners. Their cameras, electronics, laptops and jewelry purses/wallets were also stolen.

Mac was wearing his grandfather's cufflinks on his suit, and his grandmother's locket was with him too. Sentimental items he will never see again.

This trip, to celebrate the marriage of Kaitlin and Mac, has been turned upside down.
