Bringing Music to Rural Honduras
Donation protected
ABOUT ME
As a music teacher, I am continually seeking ways to build connections between students in different parts of the world through the universal language of music. This March, I will be heading to a school in Teupasenti, Honduras to teach violin, viola and cello to students ages 5-18.
Perpetual Motion featuring Karla, Angelica, Jovita, Joseph, and Lizzi
ABOUT MY JOURNEY
When I learned about the newly created music program in Teupasenti, my first instinct was, "I want to be a part of this!" I am very excited to be heading to the school, where I plan to immerse myself in the culture of the community, explore new repertoire with the students, and facilitate a musical collaboration between my New York City students and the Teupasenti students. I believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience making music, and I am thrilled that the students in Teupasenti received a generous donation of string instruments, thanks to Children's Rescue Mission. I believe this experience will make me a better teacher and a more global musician.
With Yadari and Katia, viola students
ABOUT MY CAMPAIGN
I created this fundraising site to gather donations to purchase much-needed supplies and hopefully some additional instruments that I will bring down to the community of Teupasenti! This music program has potential to make a tremendous impact in the lives of these children, and I would like to see it grow.
Thank you so much for considering and for your support!
