Water Well Eagle Scout Project -Jeffrey Schneider

Hi. I'm Jeffrey Schneider, a Life Scout with Troop 15 in Shreveport, Louisiana and I'm working on my Eagle Scout Project.  I've partnered with The Simple Church (who is the beneficiary of the fundraising) and the Honduras Well Project to organize and execute a trip to Northern Honduras to drill a well for a village that currently does not have access to clean water. The children of this village presently walk 3 miles each way, several times daily to get unclean water from a stream that is drying up. This is their primary job and does not allow them time for school. My Louisiana based team will travel to their village and in collaboration with local experts,  we will drill a well that will provide a reliable source of clean water close to home. This well will directly benefit 300-400 people daily. The team will also teach classes on hygiene and well maintenance to keep the villagers healthy and to keep the well running for years to come.

As the church is the recipient of the funds, all donations are fully tax-deductible - including the temporary pandemic deduction that allows individuals to deduct an EXTRA $300 (or $600 per couple) OVER the standard deduction for cash charitable contributions in 2021. I must raise $11,500 by Valentine’s Day in order to pay for the project which is scheduled to take place during Spring Break in March. All donations go through the church, and if we are fortunate enough to raise more than the cost of this project, any excess funds will be used by the church to fund future missions. With your support,  we can change hundreds of lives!
