Homestead Build for my Family

Hi my name is Diante Duram. Me and my wife bought a sprinter van in the beginning of 2023 and went all over the US delivering general freight. While on the road we realized that homelessness across the states was at an all time high. Although some were visibly on drugs, many people were not. We seen families out on the street. We seen tent communities in the middle of the city in Denver Colorado, on the side of newly built townhomes. Right before my eyes, i noticed the middle class, the class in which i belong, was diminishing. This made me think of the mortgage i was bound to, and how i was only 3 months of missed payments away from being homeless. Me and my wife bought a mobile home a couple years prior. It was a double wide and at first, we thought we made the right decision. It was only two years later, the mobile home we bought begin to cave in at the roof, filling random lightbulbs with water. One particular evening me and my wife came home only to check the mail and receive devastating news. Our insurance on the mobile home went up and spiked our mortgage an additional 300 dollars. We thought we had a fixed rate but we were informed that this was normal. I thought to myself for awhile. I knew the mobile home was a depreciating asset. It added no value to the land. It was hard to fathom the payment rising every few years for a depreciating asset. I knew I had to build something for my family. I had no experience but I researched and studied. I happen to be a visual learner so I knew I could do it. It was only God who gave me the courage to get started though. We allowed our mobile home to be picked up, built a 8 by 15 tiny home in the back of the property and began. We told family members with hopes we would all come together and complete this assignment. They didn’t believe in us. I had to quit working over night to have the energy to build, and that’s when I lost everyone. It was something I had to do to get this far. I had to stay close to my wife and kids because we had to live extremely different. We went from a 4 bedroom mobile home, to the tiny home we built and are currently living in at the moment. We also homeschool our children and this made it difficult, however not impossible. We were hit with a hurricane last year and we had to rebuild. We have all our walls up and roof joist but it’s been a struggle to get the rest of the material. Inflation has really did a number on us but I believe God has a plan. I work on many different apps to earn money daily for materials. I never intended on sharing this journey let alone ask for financial help, but i need it honestly. Three days ago I made a TikTok in an attempt to exhaust all options. Someone suggested that I start a go fund me, so here I am. I put my pride aside because I don’t want to miss the blessing God has for my life. The Lord knows if you find it in your heart to assist me it’ll be a seed planted in faithful and fertile ground.
