Homeschoolers organise Educational Trip to Uganda

We are an International group of homeschoolers based all over the world. We are aged between 9-18 years. We want to come together in October 2024 to visit Uganda on an educational exchange basis. This is our story;

As a group of children who don't attend traditional school, our interests and passions are broad and varied; from chess, to music, theatre to philosophy. A lot of our education is real life. This means that we are learning by doing!

This is our next big project - we have set ourselves the challenge of organising and funding this trip to Uganda by ourselves. There is a lot to do!

So far we have been raising money by making and selling food items and crafts, washing cars, challenging people to a chess game and putting on a performance of Oliver!

But we need to raise a lot! We need to cover;

Why Uganda?

Uganda has a special place in our hearts. Our music teacher, Ms Sarah was homeschooled herself alongside her adopted siblings - one of whom was adopted in Uganda. She will come with us on this trip and show us where she was born and what life in Uganda is like. We can't wait to learn about it.

What will we do there?

We want to learn about life in Uganda and there is no better way of learning than by going there! We want to meet Ugandan children the same age as us. We are going to experience their life and show them some of the things we like to do and learn! We have organised music and sport activities to do with the children there!

This trip is being supported and overseen by our parents and our music teacher, mainly by managing the bank account for the donations and money we raise and by giving us advice! (Adults will also be coming with us!)
