Homelessness to Hope for the Davis Family
Donation protected
Hoping for a place they can call home.
This is the story of the Davis family*, a loving, close-knit family of six who have survived a series of unfortunate events and have recently struggled with transience and are without a place to live. Parents Skye and Darren, and their four boys, Michael, August, Zach and Morgan only want what every family wants and deserves: a place they can call home, and hopefully this fundraiser will help them find their way home.

The past year has been bad for a lot of folks, but especially so for the Davis family.
After Darren took time off to care for Skye after she suffered a ruptured uterus delivering their son Zach, he lost his job at an optical company and the family was unable to keep their apartment. They were able to move in with Darren's mom, and this was working out great allowing Skye to recover and allow Skye and Darren to raise their kids in a healthy environment. Sadly, Darren's mom was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer. Too late for treatment, she passed away soon after entering hospice care. After her death, Darren and Skye lost everything again.
In May 2020, a generous Queen Village family of four offered to temporarily share their modest size townhouse with the Davises. This gesture allowed Skye to have a place to bring home their fourth son, Morgan who was born on July 21, 2020 and rest and recover.
To make this transitional time successful, the Davises are hoping to find a place to rent by November 1st, 2020. The goal of this fundraiser is to help make that hope a reality. Your charity can make huge difference in their lives and they will be eternally grateful for any help (large or small) that you can give.
Your donations will go towards:
- Approx $1,100, security deposit
- Approx $2,200, first and last month's rent
- Future month rent savings
- Utilities
- Basic necessities
I've set a goal of $15,000 but would love to see us blow by that. Maybe I'm dreaming but wouldn't it be amazing if this fundraiser took off and made enough for them to live without fear? If we asked ourselves, how much would we be willing to share to rescue six people (of which are four children) from homelessness, couldn't our community meet this goal?
If you've been fortunate enough to come through these challenging times in good shape, please join me in sharing some of that good fortune and give as you feel moved to help care for our neighbors, the Davises.
