Womens Bus Homeless Shelter,,, URGENT FIRE DAMAGE

UPDATE.....we have had a serious fire on the men's bus, tonight Monday 21st.... the upstairs bedding area is all water and smoke damaged... the locker area is gutted with the fire. It started in a strip light behind the lockers, the bus has special non heating lights so it looks like the electrics in the light failed or shorted out....the upstairs will need much stripping out the roof repaired and recovered, all the mattresses are useless all the bedding and many of the curtains are destroyed....we can rebuild it but it will take time, so we really need to finish off the women's bus in a few days just to house the guys while we work on the men's bus,, I will need to throw money at it, there is no time to cut corners or wait on bargains to come along, I am off in the morning  to buy whatever is needed, any help fitting, putting curtains making beds up laying carpets, fitting a cooker, cleaning the fridge, fitting the new shower, fitting radiators so much to do before we even look at the burned out men's bus....any help will be really appreciated. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,UPDATE

Our new bus arrived this week we are going to have a women only bus just to give the homeless women a safe place to sleep and get their thoughts together, many women end up homeless due to domestic abuse and violence so having a secure shelter will let them sleep before being signposted onto specialist services,  Most women just like men have had a bit of bad luck and somehow ended up on the street so the bus can help give them a few nights sleep and help to deal with whatever their issue are they can stay till accommodation is found..........................

The bus it is looking really sorry for itself, it was vandalised and parts stollen, It needs radiators, Batteries a new toilet fitted along with lighting and curtains,,, we will start work on it Monday and hopefull have it comnplete before Xmas so you help is needed, the smallest amout or even buy an item we need this will really help, we are going to carpet it and insulate it upstairs.....We are going to divert all our xmas appeal monies to the womens bus and hopefully it will serve like our other bus did right through the winter.....

We have more people on the street than ever, Xmas is a time where the homeless are really affected, it's never nice not seeing your family or love ones, and many of the homeless have not for years, but we can bring some cheer along with food, clothing and even a santa with presents for all. Your donation keeps us running, it fuels our bus, it keep us legal on the street where we can make a difference. It pays our gas and electric this allows us to cook and buy the extras we serve up to the guys ever week, over 150 are having bellies filled. We do homedrops every week to those who get into accomodation but having spent months or years on the street they often have ilness ormalnourished. We give between £40-£50 in good food and even provide TV's and Radios...we are all volunteers we are all commited to bringing support and change to Homeless & Rough Sleeper.........but only with your help.
