Homeless women’s Sleepbus for Canberra

National Council of Women ACT Inc have launched a Gofundme page to raise money for a crisis accommodation  service for homeless women of Canberra. 

Sleepbus provides safe, temporary overnight accomodation, getting people off the street by offering immediate, first stop, cost effective solution for our society’s most vulnerable; catching them early until they can get back on their feet.

The sleep bus will operate 365 days a year for overnight accomodation and even has pet pods! No one would be forced to give up their companion animal for a safe night sleep.

Individual pods with TV access including a dedicated channel advertising homeless and community services in area , air conditioned and completely private.

A total fundraising goal of $100,000 to bring the Sleepbus service to Canberra with early pledges now around $60,000 we are confident of reaching our target.

National Council of Women ACT Inc (NCWACT) is a advocating group representing affiliate women’s groups from across Canberra. Our focus for 2018/19 is homeless women in the ACT and looking at addressing the lack of crisis accomodation available.

All money raised from this campaign on Gofundme or direct cash donations will be collected by National Council of Women ACT Inc. and directed to the Sleepbus charity to bring the service to Canberra. Any additional money raised over the total goal of $100,000 will go to maintain the bus with ongoing costs and operations.
