Homeless, cold and living in a car......
Friends, I met a young mom this week who has been living in her small car behind a Dunkin Donuts with her two young boys ages 9 and 11 since November. Her mother died and she has no relatives or support from the boys dad. I have been working hard to find support from social services here in Palm Beach County and there is nothing! I am trying to handle clothing and food for them, the little one has been sick. Since I could not find shelter for them, I just rented an Airbnb small house for 5 days last night for them, until I could put a plan in place. I need to mention that she was born in the US, has no criminal background, and no drug use. She just needs help to get a jump start and get back on her feet.
I am starting this campaign primarily for shelter for this family. My goal is to raise enough money for them to be able tmove out of their car and into an apartment. I am hoping to fund first, last and security deposit and hopefully a month or two additional for rent while I help her get a better job. The main thing they need right now is to get out of their car and get a roof over their heads. I think I have enough support to also find a few beds and basic furniture. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and I will post updates on our progress and pictures as well. Thank you all for reading this and opening your hearts. No amount given is too small if we can spread the word to enough people, we can reach this goal for Maria and her two boys...God bless this sweet family.
