Homeless Veteran fund Joseph Sales

Donation protected
From Cindy...
A week or so ago a friend posted looking for a donated bicycle for a homeless vet who was desperately trying to earn some money and needed transportation. Tim and I happily purchased this wonderful veteran who has served 6 tours a brand new bike so that he could earn a living.  This small gesture started a small avalanche of love.   Others gave coats, gloves and money.    I have just learned that he was hit by a car (a mindless woman who was paying more MIND to her phone) who ran a red light! She destroyed his brand new bike. Cracked his ribs.   The VA in Lexington KY basically wrapped his ribs and sent him out the door. My heart is broken for this human being. He, just like all of us more fortunate humans, deserves a warm bed and full tummy for Christmas. Liz Western Brantley and I are put together a this page (my first EVER) for this precious young man who has fought for our liberties. I hope and pray to see your name on the list of donors to get this man in a warm and safe
Place for Christmas.  I hope that all my friends will give...even if it's $5. $5 to us is NOTHING. $5 to him is everything!!!!! Look inward. Think of your sons and daughters. YOU fathers, uncles, aunts. Your past. Your present. Your future. I'm counting on you to do what your heart tells you to do! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

From Liz...
How do I start this story?
My husband and I are small business owners, in Lexington, KY. I ran into Joseph Sales, a window washer that we had previously used for our business.
In late November, I was off site working, and this man came up to me and asked if I was the manager. I told him no, at that point we both recognized each other! I asked him where he had been, I was sure he had moved out of town. He told me he did move and came back to take care of his ailing father. Unfortunately, his father has passed, which has left Joseph homeless. He didn’t ask for anything, just told me his story and that he hadn’t eaten. I wrote a small check for him and he said, “this is the BEST Christmas ever”, raised the check to the sky and said, “thank you, Lord.”
This man has served SIX tours for our county! He has the best attitude ever, even with the cards he has been dealt, he always has a smile on his face and just wants to work.
I went to FB and posted my story, hoping some friends could chip in, and help this homeless vet get back on his feet. We have had a brand-new bike, a brand new (compact) window washing kit, warming blankets, gifts cards and cashed donated. THANK YOU ALL!
He was starting to get his small business back on track, all while sleeping where he could, then, the unthinkable happened. While riding his new bike to a job, he was hit by a person who was texting and ran a red light.
PLEASE DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE!!!
He ended up in the hospital with broken ribs, the front tire on his bike is destroyed, BUT NOT HIS ATTITUDE! He is still working with two broken ribs.
This man really touched our hearts, along with many friends, family and business associates. He went to the VA for assistance, they said they could put him in a two-month addiction program. Here’s the kicker, he’s not addicted to either drugs or alcohol. The VA said they could not help him and sent him back out into the cold.
That’s when we decided to take this a step further, hoping the more people that see this story, can help this homeless vet. We are hoping to raise enough money to pay for his living expenses, in his own apartment, for three months. This will keep him warm and safe at night. Our thought is that he can get back on his feet with his window washing business and can support himself.
Please help us get this homeless vet back on his feet!  If the government won't take care of our veterans...we must!
God Bless.
