My family and I are currently homeless. We have been struggling for the past 6 years, either hotel hopping and living out of motels, or in the car. All of our personal belongings are in storage which we can not afford to pay, so we might lose our personal belongings. A good amount of those belongings are also the stock for the e-commerce business we run. However, considering we don’t have a stable place to ship and manage our inventory, we’re not able to continue this business, which is our only source of income. We have had this business for 10+ years and it’s been sustainable up until now because of the circumstances. It’s been very very difficult to run a business out of a motel and storage unit, but to an extent we were still able to maintain the business, up until recently, when our only form of somewhat stable housing was condemned and we were forced to leave, and now are living out of our car and a motel which we can’t afford much longer, because we have no income coming in from our business. People did not follow the laws at the place we were at, nor were any laws enforced. In that place, it was a dozen people living there including us, who got thrown out by the town due to it getting shut down. One of the very many reasons for this, was because there was 3 different types of mold growing almost everywhere inside, which caused us to get very sick. Me, and my sons particularly. One of my sons is diagnosed with asthma which made it worse for him. Waking up not being able to breath and sickness and drowsiness all the time. This all could’ve been avoided if people did the right thing and followed the laws.

Never before have we asked for help. We have done our best to be independent, but at this point, our teenage kids have not been able to live a traditional or stable life for this long, and it is taking a toll on our family. We also have 3 cats and 1 dog. This life is also very unfair for them, the constant moving around, and being stuck in a car, having to move around and be in the carriers so much is very unfair to them and we want to give them a good life. They need the freedom of stable housing too. This isn’t fair for anybody to go through especially kids who have to deal with it in their early and teen years. Along with that, their grandmother suffered an injury from a fall because of a broken handrail that went un-repaired despite them being asked to, and the law requiring it, at the very same property. Now, she is almost completely immobile, unable to get in bed on her own, use the bathroom on her own and is now bound to a wheelchair because it is very hard for her to move. She especially needs help and assistance because she’s getting older and her condition is worsening, and she cant get the help and assistance she needs out of a car and a motel we can’t afford. Any assistance and donations would be appreciated and very helpful as anything helps. Even gas money is helpful. Anything at all to push us out of this situation and help give our family the life every being deserves. We know that a lot of people are struggling, and we know we aren’t the only ones but we still would appreciate anything, We are eager to get back to normalcy after not having it for years. We also would appreciate any donations going towards the price of a lawyer so we can take action for the better of the community.
