Hi, I am raising money from the community to help Jen , a widow with two kids who is living in a motel and is struggling to just to make ends meet let alone improve her circumstances. I have personally verified the situation and will manage the funds on her behalf . I met Jen and her younger daughter , spoke with the front desk at the motel, already paid personally for hotel nights for her and am trying to find a car dealer to help repair her car. Jen works and picks up as many shifts as she can. Jen is in a very desperate situation and I know many of you have a heart to help. Jen and her kids got evicted in Indiana shortly after her husband had a heart attack and died . She moved to Illinois to stay with friends but that didn’t last long . Jen works both temporary and home health care jobs and Ubers at night to try to make ends meet. Her credit is bad so she can’t get a traditional apartment lease and can’t scrape together a security deposit . The transmission on her car is failing and without the car she can't get to any of her jobs and will be on the street with no income . She already had to stop Ubering temporarily as the car is on its last leg and without the Uber income , she doesn’t have enough to pay for the hotel. What will your money be used for ? #1) fix the car #2) reinstate her lapsed auto insurance #3) continue to help pay for the hotel at $1700/ month until subsidized housing can be found - the waiting list is long and shelters are full. Many hands make work light .
