On Saturday, 2/15/25 afternoon in Cicero, A home explosion next to the home and business of Maria and Alex Salgado occurred. The explosion caused devastating damage to their building, leaving them and there tenants homeless.

For those that know them, Maria and Alex have always put others' needs in front of their own. Even with this tragedy, Maria sheds tears and worries for her tenants and salon employees even as she herself has lost everything. Maria has owned and worked at her salon, Rocio’s Beauty, for over 30 years. With her source of income gone, she is struggling to have the finances to rebuild her life that she and Alex have worked so hard to establish.
