Coming from a marginalised latino background in the U.S., growing up on the streets with no role models to follow - Chris paid the ultimate price for adolescent mistakes and has spent most of his twenties in prison. We're raising money to help Chris get started into a new life after prison. Being granted parol comes with the condition to put up rent right away and the new job requires a car for reliable transportation. Chris is really motivated and can't wait to get a second chance.

I've always had to do everything on my own and I've ended up making the wrong decisions — not having any guidance or direction from where I come from made it harder to chose a different path to what I'm used to.

Re-entering society after five years with nothing in your pocket and nowhere to go is harder than most people realise. I'm not asking for a handout — but a little help so I can stand on my own two feet would mean more than you know.

I get another chance at life and I won't take it for granted. I'm ready to work hard and do things right this time around. The fact that people who don't even know me personally are willing to help means everything. You're giving me a real shot here and I won't waste it.
