This is Iesha and her 7 beautiful children. They are without a home. Their previous home that they cherished was destroyed in an electrical fire recently. The landlord is at fault but will not share any of the insurance pay out with this family. Iesha lost EVERYTHING in the fire. As a single mother, she is currently looking for a home but has no furnishings or resources what-so-ever and is in dire need of help. They were living in their car until ACCESS stepped in to get them intoTEMPORARY shelter.
I met Iesha when she brought her children in to pick-up a Salvation Army donated lunch from Summit Lake last week. She is intelligent and humble and a good mom which is reflected in her well-behaved, respectful and well-cared for children. She is working hard with ACCESS to locate a house for the family which is a difficult task, as there are not too many Section 8 homes available- let alone to house 8 people. They have no furniture (beds to sleep in!) and I am wanting to help her furnish this new house and help with clean-up, painting and anything else needed to turn it into a comfortable, liveable home. I am asking you to please donate whatever you can ($5 to $1,000+ and even gently used furniture) so that we can begin to get them settled in a new home. My plan is to find budget-friendly (and/or donated) furnishings to deliver and help set-up once she is in a house.
If you have furniture to donate, you can contact me personally at my email address listed in the contact section of this post.
We appreciate any way that you are able to help Iesha and her family.
Thank you.
