Gyeongpo Fire Relief Fund for Taeyoung & Alethea
Donation protected
If anyone knows anything about working hard to achieve their dreams it’s my brother and his wife, Taeyoung and Alethea Cho.
For the past few years they have been putting every penny into the renovation of a small motel and home on our family’s property and by their own two hands were near completion until last week when a massive wildfire spread through the town where they lived and demolished the life they worked so hard to build.
While we are all thankful that they are safe and were not at home at the time of the fire, they lost their beautiful home, business, and their 4 wonderful rescue cats, which is the hardest loss of all as they have been passionate and active in the animal rescue community for the past 10 years.
Taeyoung and Alethea were also in the process of family planning and were looking forward to being able to move from the renovation site after the summer (busy) season when they would be able to finally make back the money they put in to the business and see their hard work pay off. In the last year, their budding business had earned them super host status on Airbnb and was already becoming a beloved spot by those who visited, earning them wonderful reviews.
My family has never been the ones to reach out for help or to burden anybody so I’m making this in hopes to help them cover at least a portion of what they’ve lost as they are grieving and trying to heal. No amount of money will ever replace the love they have for their 4 cats, but anything will help to cover everything else that got burned down and the loss of income they will suffer in the coming months from the loss of their business.
Although the fundraising amount seems like a lot, it is nowhere near the amount my brother and sister in law has lost. I am hoping this can at least help get them a bit of jump start in their road to recovery and rebuilding.
Whether you can help or not, we still appreciate your time to read this and we ask you to keep them in your prayers.
Thank you.
