Home Addition for Family Additions

I stood in the doorway with my 7-year-old foster daughter and her 11-year-old brother, waving goodbye to their caseworker. The monthly visit was a clear reminder to the children of where they had come from and that their place in our home was not certain. I closed the door, and the little girl ran to the couch and snuggled up against my husband. As she cuddled close, she said with determination mixed with a wish, “I am never going to leave you. Never ever.”

Our family would love to make her wish come true as their case heads toward adoption. We have four biological children, and her brother, because of his severe intellectual disability, will always need his own room. Not a lot of elbow room! Our family has managed to make it work for now, but to be their forever family we need more space. We hope to build an addition to our home to make room for the addition to our family.
