WHEN WILL THE TRIP TAKE PLACE?
We will travel for 8 days in December/January 2019/2020 in London rehearsing, performing and exploring the city.
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP? WHY DO WE TURN TO YOU?
The trip will cost $3500.00 per person; we have 45 students and 8 required Chaperones. Our Choral Boosters and Fundraising Committees are looking for many creative ways to help the students cover this cost through special fundraising, grants and scholarships. The biggest challenge, other than the sheer price of the trip per person, is the quick turn-around from the date of the invitation to when the money must be paid. The first payment was due June 3, and the last payment is due Nov. 1, 2019
We are working incredibly hard to find ways for this opportunity to be more affordable for all of our students. They are determined and are working hard to fundraise already! While every effort is being made by students, the Choral Community families and HSHS Choral Booster Club, the time frame to raise these funds is very short.
Our end goal of $157,500.00 covers the entire cost for 45 students. This is an enormous goal and we quite simply can not manage this cost without your support! If we don’t find the resources, there will not be another opportunity to try again in the future. Any donation; grand, large or small will help make an impact to ensure that no student is left behind!
WHO ARE THESE STUDENTS?
These 45 students are Juniors and Seniors in High School who have already spent at least 2 years preparing and auditioning for Colla Voce, under the direction of our amazing and accomplished Director of Choral Arts; Jennifer Patchett. These specially selected and trained students are incredibly talented - to see the light in these kids’ eyes when they sing, and when they sing together is an unmatched magical experience! Many students who graduate from Colla Voce have embraced singing as their foremost passion in life and have and will go on to make music their chosen career.
The countless combined hours spent practicing and performing by ALL past and present Colla Voce Choirs has paved the way for this day and this invitation. This community of inspiring and outstanding young people is strong and has received this invitation as an accomplished whole - it would be heartbreaking to leave any student behind who desires to attend due to financial hardship. Our goal is to ensure this does not happen!
WHAT CAN YOU DO NEXT?
Spread the word and contribute! We are reaching out to you - our friends, our community, businesses, our State, Nations, Choral Music lovers, travel enthusiasts, and ANYONE who believes in the benefit of exposing young people to the enriching, inclusive international culture of The Performing Arts. This unique and amazing honor could not have come about unless these students had done their part. We ask that you seriously consider being a part of broadening the global perspective of each and every one of these students through the lens of Choral music.
Thank you in advance for your contribution and helping 45 dreams come true - give today and please spread the word!
