Holiday Gifts for Underserved Youth JC LES

It’s that time of the year again!  Alex, aka @Dizzycordova here :-)

Last year WE raised $2500, which allowed me to purchase 95 Target gift cards for two underserved public schools (one was in Jersey City, NJ and the other was in the Lower East Side, NYC)

I can not legally raise money on behalf of any specific public school, so I want to make it VERY CLEAR that this is a personal fundraising for me to donate to the schools and organizations of my choice. 100% of the proceeds will be used to purchase gift cards or gifts to the public schools and organizations in JC And LES of my choice. I can promulgate the names of the public school once I deliver the donations.

I chose these communities to donate to (and live in and make my home) because of diversity. The reality is that these children are our future. They are uniquely exposed to the most diverse languages, cultures, religions, customs, music, art, food, etc. Additionally, they primarily come from economically disadvantaged areas. If these young community members represent us in higher education and the rest of the world (where they will likely be in mostly monolithic cohorts)- let us give them the support and love to add to their toolbelt in addition to their extraordinary experience.

This year's goal is to get 466 gifts (3-8th grade) to a public school in Jersey City I've identified (that I can tell you the name of on December 18th, 2022) by December 17th, 2022 and contribute to The Lower Eastside Girls Club by December 30th, 2022.
