My name is Dana Lockett and I am the Head Cheerleading Coach at the University of Oregon.
Oregon, specifically Eugene/Springfield has been my home my entire life as I grew up the McKenzie River in Leaburg. What is happening to our community and state us unfathomable and beyond comprehension. Thousands of people have lost their homes; hundreds of them that my family and I are connected to. On Monday at 1:15am my parents, grandfather, and brother and his family were woken up by Sheriffs telling them to evacuate their home. They showed up on my doorstep at 2:00am with the clothes on their back. They had no time to grab any belongings even leaving their cats, and farm animals. The home I was raised in on a 3 generation family property was still standing as of this morning but we do not know if it remained through the course of the day. The fire is still blazing towards my current city with homes of friends, family, and coworkers in its path and thousands more homes and properties will be devastated by this. I tell you this in detail to show you how affected I am by what is going on and why I am asking for help.

In a time where I feel so helpless I know I can make a small impact for those who are suffering. Over the last 4 days I have been asking for donations and have collected over $8,000 to buy supplies for the shelters. I have made multiple trips to Costco and Walmart for items needed for these families.

Now I am giving small cash donations to people who I know have confirmed lost their homes since they are having to spend money on items to get them by until they can sort out insurance. I am also working on a list of immediate necessities they need. 

If you have the means, please consider donating whatever you can. I’ve been accepting money through Venmo, CashApp, and now here. I will continue to make trips for supplies as long as people continue to donate.

I have been using the funds from this gofundme to pay for supplies for families who have lost their homes as well as purchase gift cards to donate to the families so they can go get the stuff they need. From Target,Walmart, Bi-Mart, Albertsons, Fred Myers, Visa GCs. Just think about all the things you would need to put your life back together.
