Holiday Cheer for 1500 Ocean Drive Staff

Dear 1500 Ocean Drive Residents,

As Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season approaches, it is a good time to reflect on our valued staff at 1500 Ocean Drive. They work every day to make our community and our building a special place. Their dedication ensures an unparalleled living experience for all of us who call 1500 Ocean Drive our home, for those who visit us, and for those who work here. This year has been particularly challenging as we are currently running the largest construction project in the history of our building, causing noise, dirt, and many disruptions. Every day our staff makes their best effort to continue serving our unit owners the best way possible in these challenging circumstances.

In alignment with our longstanding tradition, our Board of Directors is kicking off the 1500 Ocean Drive Holiday Fund campaign for our staff for 2024. This fund represents our collective gesture of appreciation, intending to provide holiday gratuities to our diligent staff and their families as a heartfelt acknowledgment of their service to 1500 and to all of us.

Our aim is to raise $50,000 for the 2024 Holiday Fund, to be distributed among our 25 remarkable staff members. We also include valued associates who work for 1500 via a third party, e.g., our team in valet and security. We are not including our General Manager, in the spirit of maximizing the giving to the staff, and in view of his compensation structure as senior manager.

Every contribution, regardless of size, will be graciously received and warmly valued by our service staff and their families during this festive season. The allocation will be thoughtfully determined by our Board, considering tenure nd other considerations.

To simplify and streamline the process of contributions, we set up a GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/598c4552 for everybody’s convenience.

The GoFundMe page allows you to make the donation anonymously, if you wish. When making your donation via GoFundMe, please be mindful that the page will ask you for a "platform fee”, which by system default is set at 15%. This fee does not go to our association or to our staff, but it is an administrative fee which goes to GoFundMe. You can set this fee at a lower amount, down to 0%.

For those of you preferring to extend a personal holiday cheer through cash or check directly to the staff, we kindly request that, if unable to hand it directly to the staff member, you deliver it to the management office rather than the front desk. This ensures timely and secure distribution of your thoughtful gifts. We kindly ask for all holiday contributions to be made before Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, to ensure timely distribution.
