Her Story.

In 2022, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer.

For two long years, I watched her go through chemotherapy, surgery, and 30 sessions of radiation. There were days she could barely stand, days she cried quietly so no one would worry, and days when fear seemed to take over. But she never stopped fighting.

She kept going because of her two daughters and her husband. They were her strength. Even in her weakest moments, she held on for them. She survived because she wanted to live, for her family.

Just when we believed the hardest part was behind her, life took a devastating turn.

Our mother passed away suddenly. One moment she was walking back from the bathroom, and the next she collapsed before reaching her bed. My sister tried everything, CPR, calling for help, begging her to stay, but she was already gone. Losing our mother broke something deep inside all of us.

While she was still grieving, another unimaginable loss followed.

Only 41 days later, my sister woke up to a strange sound beside her. It was her husband. He was struggling to breathe, turning blue, fading right in front of her. Once again, she called for help. Once again, she performed CPR. Once again, she held someone she loved as they slipped away.

Two heartbreaking losses.
Two people who meant everything to her.
Only forty-one days apart.

Now, she is left raising her two daughters, just 11 and 14 years old. These young girls lost their grandmother and their father before they could even begin to understand what grief truly is. They now live with the fear of losing their mother too, waking up from nightmares, scared she won’t be there.

My sister is doing everything she can to stay strong for them, but the weight she carries is overwhelming.

And all of this is happening while living in Lebanon, a country facing constant economic collapse, instability, and the ongoing threat of conflict. The uncertainty of daily life, financial hardship, and the stress of simply trying to provide safety for her children only add to the burden she carries every single day.

Along with the emotional pain, there are also the financial pressures, daily living costs, school fees, and the challenge of raising two young girls in an environment where stability is never guaranteed.

I am reaching out on her behalf because she cannot carry all of this alone anymore.

Any support, no matter how small, would help give them a chance to breathe again, to feel a sense of safety, and to slowly rebuild a life that has been shaken to its core.

Thank you for taking the time to read her story.
Thank you for seeing her and helping bring a little light back into her life.
