All pupils will be running the Mini London Marathon in order to raise funds for our Thinking Garden. This involves classes running a collective 26.2 miles or individuals running 2.62 miles between 7th - 10th May.
We are lucky to have a rich outside learning area for our children at Holbrook School, which includes our Conservation area and Thinking Garden.
The Thinking Garden was created in 2011 in memory of Abigail Hargreaves who was a pupil at the school. Her family, teaching staff and friends from Year 4 designed the Thinking Garden and raised funds to help create a space that all children could use as an area for quiet reflection. Over the years, many children have benefited from using the garden, which can be located on the opposite side of the field to the car park.
Despite regular upkeep, time and weather have taken their toll on the area and it is looking wild and in need of renovating. We would love to rejuvenate the garden and make it more accessible than it currently is so that all children can benefit from its tranquil and calming environment; somewhere that we hope Abigail and her friends would approve of.
