Hogar Bolivar Rain Collection - Eagle Project
Donation protected
Hello everyone! My name is Erik Bergaust, and I'm working on an Eagle Scout project for Hogar Bolivar. They are an elder care facility located in Panama City, Panama, established in the 1920’s. They have nearly 100 residents with no place else to go.
To help Hogar Bolivar keep costs down and put more of their limited resources towards their mission of helping the elderly improve their lives, I plan on installing a rainwater storage system. The project will directly help their impressive organic gardens, which both feed residents and also provide beauty to their lives. By using rainwater instead of city water, I will provide a cheaper and more eco-friendly solution to what Hogar Bolivar has now.
My project was inspired by a similar project at the U.S. Embassy in Panama. I have partnered with their Green Team and Facilities experts to design and plan the collection and distribution system.
The project is ready to go and just needs some additional funding. Thank-you to those of you who have already contributed to the cause - we've raised $540 of our $1400 needed!! Can you please support this worthy cause with a financial contribution? Any donation will help us achieve our goal of helping this elderly community. We are planning on installing the 4,300 liter tank, pvc pipes, and hoses March 26.
You can send funds via the GoFundMe campaign or directly to my dad’s PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle account (c_bergaust at yahoo.com). Any excess donations will go directly to Hogar Bolivar.
Please help me help them!
Thank you,
Erik Bergaust
