My Grandmother’s Funeral

Hi, my name is Makeda, and I’m fundraising for my mother. My mom is a single parent of three girls, all one year apart. She was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa until she was brought to Canada by her father at the age of 16. My mother left everything she knew and loved, including her mother, to

come to Canada and start a life for her family. Since coming to Canada 20 years ago she has not had the chance to go back home to see her mom. She never had the financial aid to make it possible. Fast forward to June 8th, 2022 my mom received a call from back home notifying her that her dear mother had passed away. She was absolutely devastated. My mom had prayed and wished to visit her mom before she passed away. Unfortunately it was too late.

My mom means everything to me. She is an incredibly strong person who has gone through so much hardships in her lifetime.

The funds for my mom would mean so much to her and myself. The money would take care of having an honourable funeral service, hospital bills, and the support of my close family relatives who stayed by her side until the end.
