Help Lorna Live Again
Many people in Blackpool already know my mum, Lorna.
She is kind, loving, hilarious, and truly one of a kind. A natural comedian with the biggest heart — and without doubt, one of the best Caribbean chefs Blackpool has ever known.
Over the years, Lorna has poured love into this community through food and service. She proudly ran businesses such as Lorna’s Caribbean Cuisine, Farmhouse Pantry, and Jamaican Soul Food, and even reopened the Blackpool Transport canteen, making sure bus and tram drivers were fed, cared for, and appreciated. Feeding people has always been her love language.
In early 2025, our lives changed forever when Lorna was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Since then, she has had to retire — something she never imagined doing so soon. Now, instead of working nonstop for others, we want to help Lorna live again.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is simple:
to help my mum enjoy the rest of her life making memories, travelling, laughing, and spending precious time with friends and family.
Lorna’s Bucket List & Dreams
More than anything, my mum wants to experience joy, music, movement, and life — the things she has always loved but never slowed down enough to give herself.
At the top of her bucket list is a dream holiday cruising around the Caribbean. Lorna was just three years old the last time she was there, and returning would mean reconnecting with her roots, her culture, and a place that has always lived in her heart.
Lorna dreams of seeing Scotland, Wales, and other parts of the UK — places she’s always talked about but never had time to visit. To make this possible, she needs a few essentials, including:
A mobility scooter to help her get around comfortably
Accessible adaptations at home to make everyday life easier
Support with travel costs so she can experience these moments while she still can.
She also loves to dine, dance, dress up, and celebrate life. Simple but special experiences mean the world to her, including:
A beautiful dinner and dance evening, where she can get dressed up and feel like herself
Attending the Ascot Ladies’ Day, something she has always wanted to experience.
We don’t want to wait on government support, as we simply don’t know how long that could take — and life is for living now.
If Lorna has ever fed you, made you laugh, supported you, or simply brightened your day, this is our way of asking for help in return.
Any donation — no matter how small — will help make her wishes come true.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for reading, sharing, donating, and showing love to a woman who has given so much to so many.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you ❤️
