In the time gap from which no one has emerged… I am Abdullah Al-Houbi. My seven family members and I fell into that deep abyss; we lost our home, our family was torn apart, and all our savings were gone in the ongoing war.
I was just at the beginning of my life, having earned a university scholarship through merit to support my family. While in my very first semester of university, dreaming of building my ambitions and turning them into reality, the roof of those dreams collapsed under the rubble of our house. I was forced into displacement again and again, from the north of Gaza to the Mawasi area in the south.
Now I live in a tent that barely shelters me and my family members, in tragic and extremely harsh conditions: a severe lack of water, scarce food supplies, no access to medicine, and closed borders for a long time. On top of that, dangers surround us from every side. I am still searching for my lost dream, lifting my face to the sky in confusion, wandering between the alleys of tents that protect neither from heat nor cold.
I truly appreciate every effort and support you can provide in helping me find the compass back to the right path of life. Every act of kindness from you is like a flower of hope blooming in my family’s life — so we can buy a home and reunite under a warm roof once again.
