We have always wanted kids! After 3 years of trying to conceive it was time to take serious action. My mother-in-law told JP about her best friend's son, who was renowned and highly successful in the field of fertility clinics around the world. We were excited again and decided to take a chance and reach out to him for help. From the moment we arrived in Mexico, we were surrounded by family and friends. We had a wonderful trip planned and were looking forward to some much-needed rest and relaxation in-between the clinic visits.
After a couple visits and tests, our doctor explained: “There is less than a 3% chance.” It felt like a shotgun blast had ripped through my body, leaving a gaping hole the size of a dinner plate. I know it's a vivid image, but it's the closest way I can describe the feeling of being told there was less than a 3% chance that surgery would give us children. JP and I were already intertwined, our hands clasped together. We exchanged a tear-filled glance and asked the doctor questions, but I can't recall the details of his response. My mind had already begun to wander, speaking to God in silent prayer…
Our doctors have provided us with a range of options for creating our family. This journey will involve further visits to Mexico, additional tests, surgery and treatments to maximize our chances of success. Although the clinic in Mexico offers a much more affordable option than in the States, with 2-4 more trips ahead of us, we need help. We are doing our best to manage the natural aspects of our lives, trusting that God will work in the supernatural realm as only He can. We have faith that miracles will come, but we also understand that sometimes miracles come in a process.
We chose to crowdfund our dream of becoming parents due to time constraints for our next steps. We need your help in the form of prayers and financial support from our family and friends. Your words of encouragement, belief, and compassion mean so much to us. We are grateful for your support and love!
