History of the Chicano movement in Long Beach

Donation protected
My name is Ronnie Arias, and I have been friends with JT since 1964. We met at Palm Springs High, attended College of The Desert and transferred to Long Beach State in 1969. John is a photo artist and documentarian and has taken hundreds if not thousands of pictures of the Chicano student and community movement here in Long Beach. The funds raised will go to help JT convert his older film negatives to a digital format. This will allow these historical photos to be saved and archived at an appropriate site, possibly CSULB. John has developed inoperable tongue cancer which he is fighting right now. Many of these photos were taken at the Centro de la Raza, the Academia and numerous community events beginning in the early 70’s to date!
