Clime Road Cemetery is an historic location, dating back to at least 1833. The individuals laid to rest here were pioneers of the area, with names like Alkire, and Clime; names that the community knows well from the streets named after them. It is also the final resting place of Civil War Veteran William Huddleston.
Sadly, the cemetery has fallen to disrepair over the past several years. Headstones of the ancestors of our local families are crowded by overgrown weeds and downed tree limbs.
Our plans include the removal of weeds, trees, tree limbs, and debris. Two dead Ash trees, one of which has limbs hanging over the utility lines and sidewalk, must be professionally removed.
The area is not currently enclosed, with only a gate remaining, making it impossible to see from the road. We would like to install a white picket fence on the outer perimeter of the cemetery.
Other improvements can be considered if the initial goal of $2000 is met.
We want to restore a proud appearance for this historic Ohio cemetery where pioneer families rest.
